TOP TEN GRADUATION RATE/CLASS OF 2022 TOP TEN
April 25, 2022
Good Morning TPS Family,
It is with great pleasure that I am able to share two very important high school announcements. The Class of 2021 ranked tenth in the State of Michigan as determined by the Michigan Department of Education (for schools with over 100 graduates). Trenton High School ended the last academic year with a graduation rate of 98.61%. This compares to a statewide average of just over 80%. Michigan publishes graduation rates each year for the 1,200-plus public high schools in the state.
As many of you know, this accomplishment precedes the next step in our young adults’ lives. For many, after high school, going to college is a part of the plan. However, research shows that times are changing. Many graduates are pursuing different paths such as learning a trade, serving in the military, finding employment, starting a business, and ultimately, following opportunities that are unique to being a young adult in the 21st century (should you have questions and/or need additional support for your child, please contact the THS Counseling Department).
Recently, Principal Diroff shared the final class ranking of the Class of 2022 and highlighted our Top Ten. On Monday, May 9, this group will be recognized by our Board of Education and the City of Trenton will also honor their achievement on May 16, 2022 during the City Council meeting.
