Trenton Public Schools (TPS) Safety and Security Enhancements - Streamlined Communication: Improved through ParentSquare, ensuring cybersecurity and real-time updates.
- Crisis Communication: Adoption of the AEGIX app for safety drills and crisis situations. AEGIX recently upgraded their APP and have continued to improve functionality accordingly.
- Staff Identification: District-wide implementation of ID badges to limit unauthorized building access.
- Police Presence: Includes the Adopt-A-School Program, dedicated response teams, and a full-time School Resource Officer (SRO) from Trenton Police.
- Safety Consultants: Three safety consultants report directly to the SRO and Superintendent.
- Executive Safety Council: Includes the City Emergency Manager, Police Chief, SRO, Safety Consultants, and Superintendent.
- Student Monitoring: Adoption of SmartPass - MiStar for enhanced student accountability during school hours. In 2025.26, TPS implemented the use of Linewize (previous years w/Gaggle) to monitor student use of school technology/communication (24/7/365).
- Administrative Support: Four sub-administrators provide professional coverage when building leaders are unavailable.
- Building Safety Plans (BSPs): Current and in effect for the 2025-26 school year.
- Threat Monitoring: Use of Gaggle Security on all district provided Chromebooks and technology to proactively identify and address potential threats or violence.
- Building Safety Teams: Active in every building to provide feedback and raise safety concerns. This incudes formal feedback after each safety drill and/or situation.
- Crisis Team Meetings: Held monthly to review and prepare for potential scenarios, such as cybersecurity attacks.
- C-STAG Training: Leadership completed four levels of Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines to improve threat assessment practices.

- Expanded security camera coverage and ongoing upgrades despite supply chain challenges.

- Safe and Secure Entry/Exits: Created at all buildings to ensure controlled access and secure passage for students, staff, and visitors (Raptor Technology).
